Natural Lip Balm Recipe
Let’s get started with what you need to make this natural lip balm.
WHAT YOU NEED:
The first three ingredients are equal parts. So if that be cups, teaspoons, etc.
- Coconut oil 1/3
- Beeswax 1/3
- Shea butter 1/3
- Almond oil 1-2 Drops
- The fragrance of your choice (optional) 1-2 Drops
- Color (optional)
- Pot
- Glass bowl
- Empty lip balm container or tube
- Glass dropper( has to be glass) (optional)
Natural Lip Balm Recipe Steps:
Step 1:
Fill Your pot with water and put it on the stove to boil. Place the glass bowl in the water
Step 2:
We are now going to add the solids, this is beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil. I only made one lip balm container so I used 1 tablespoon of each. If you are doing a larger batch, I would use 1/2 a cup, etc. The beeswax will take the longest to melt. You want these to melt not boil!
Step 3:
Add your almond oil or oil of your choice, vitamin E is great to use too! I added 1-2 drops of almond oil since I am making one container. If you are adding fragrance add it now. I used lavender, I added 3 drops, but it is completely up to you! I don’t like the smell of shea butter this is why I used more
Step 4:
Stir well, add coloring now if you are going to use it. For coloring used some old coloring from a lipstick-making set. The colors in this set are completely natural.
Step 5:
Turn off the heat, and now pour or use your glass dropper to add the mixture to your container/s, if the mixture gets hard simply heat it up again.
Step 6:
Let the balm completely cool before using it!
Step 7:
Enjoy having moisturized lips
Tips and Tricks
Try this tip on your natural lip balm recipe
Try different, flavors and scents
make a larger batch and pour half a teaspoon into a separate bowl, add your flavor, or scent and then pour this on baking paper and leave it in the fridge for a few seconds. The balm will harden and you can test it out! You can do this to test the consistency of the balm too!
This Recipe isn’t Vegan
If you were thinking to market this as vegan, unfortunately, it’s not as it contains beeswax.
