What You’ll Need
- Wool roving in white, black, brown, and orange
- Felting needle and foam mat
- A small piece of fabric for the background (I used textured burnt orange fabric)
- A small photo frame (thrifted ones are perfect!)
- Hot glue or craft glue

Step 1: Prepare Your Background
Cut a piece of fabric slightly larger than your frame’s backing. Warm, textured fabrics like velvet, corduroy, or linen add a cozy fall vibe.
Step 1: Felt Your Ghost
Take a fluffy piece of white wool roving and begin shaping it into a ghost. Use your felting needle to stab and sculpt the wool into a soft ghost shape—round at the bottom with a slightly pointed top but completely 2-D.
Step 3: Add the Details
Use a small amount of black wool to create tiny eyes and a mouth. Using white wool make two arms, and felt them into the side of the body. Then, use orange wool to form a mini pumpkin, and brown for the stem, make this 3-D, and felt it on to the arms we just made. You can also add a cute little witch hat with black wool like I did.
Step 4: Attach to the Background
Once your ghost is finished, felt it onto your background fabric. I added bits of brown wool around the background to break up the background color a bit.
Step 5: Frame It
Place your finished ghost scene into the frame and secure it in place. I used a gold, vintage frame, I think it adds coziness and matches the Halloween colors.
