Air Dry Clay Witches Hat Ring Holder Tutorial
This witches hat air dry clay ring holder tutorial is so easy to make but yet so aesthetic. It is made simply using air dry clay, paint and varnish. While this is kind of a Halloween themed craft, its cute all year round. This is exactly how I made it, lets get started.

Air Dry Clay Ring Holder Tutorial
Alright before we get stated lets go over the supplies needed. Not much is needed but the correct supplies. So here are the supplies and my recommendations
Supplies
- Air Dry Clay ( You will want to get clay similar to this )
- Black Paint
- Clay Varnish (This varnish is amazing and adds a protective layer to the clay too) UV Gel nail polish top coat works too.
- Something to roll clay flat ( A glass will do )

Method
1. Make A Cone Shape
Make a cone shape with the clay, This should be about 2 inches tall and at the base one inch wide, remember rings should be able to easily slide down the cone. To get the size correct you can use a ring to test it before the clay dries.
2. Make The Brim
Once the cone is made, move onto making the brim of the witches hat. Roll the clay out flat, not too thin otherwise the clay will crack when drying, cut a circle using a knife.
3. Attach the Pieces
Attach the cone to the circle/brim of the hat, Use water to securely attach the two pieces together
Optional, but I think it looks great, add waves around the brim of the hat to make it look more realistic.
4. Let the Clay Dry
Let the clay dry completely, this will usually take 24 hours. Don’t leave it in direct sunlight, if the clay dries too quickly, it will crack.
5. Paint and Varnish
Paint the hat black, two or three coats will be needed to achieve a opaque black look.
Add the clay varnish and let it dry, if you want a more glossy finish, add two layers, letting each layer dry completely before adding the next.
It’s completed!
