Crafts You Can Finish in One Evening

With some crafts you just loose motivation half way and the craft project gets left half done! So I thought I would share some crafts that can be completed (from start to finish) in one evening! These crafts are perfect for the crafters that loose interest in things half way… I am guilty of that!

Here are some easy crafts you can make in just one evening.

1. Mini Embroidery Necklace

There is something so comforting about finishing an embroidery piece in one sitting. Embroidery is very time consuming, but it doesn’t have to be, just make it on a smaller scale.

Try to make a tiny floral embroidered piece, then glued down into a pendant! So simple

Keep your stitches simple (back stitch, satin stitch, French knots) These stitches are less time consuming.

By the end of the night, you will have a cute embroidered necklace pendant you can wear.

2. A Crochet Headband or Ear Warmer

If you use chunky yarn, you can make a headband in under two hours easy. The chunkier the faster to be honest.

This craft is a great crochet project for beginners as it uses basic stitches just repeated.

3. A Small Watercolor Landscape

Water color is the less messiest art type. Oil is hard to clean up, acrylic can get everywhere. Watercolour, it’s easy and pretty portable, you could easily do it in bed too.

Paint something simple:

  • A soft sunset
  • A quiet field
  • Countryside Scene
  • Wrapping Paper

YouTube has so so many beginner friendly watercolour tutorials.

I made my own wrapping paper, such a simple craft and a useful one.

This could take an hour or less!

4. A Tiny Needle Felted Animal

Small needle felting projects are so much fun!

Try

  • A mini mushroom
  • A tiny hedgehog
  • A little bee
  • A simple heart

I made this little bee in like 30 minutes! I love it so much.

5. A Handmade Soy Candle

Try candle making.

Melt.

Pour.

Wait.

Choose your favourite scent and simply enjoy the process.

In one hour you will have the candle curing on your table!

6. A Fabric-Covered Journal

Take a plain notebook and transform it into something personal.

Use:

  • Linens
  • Floral cottons
  • Vintage scraps
  • Embroidered Pieces

Decorating a journal adds a level of depth and meaning to it, honestly I am definitely more likely to use my journals when they are decorated.

7. A Painted Tote Bag

A blank tote bag is a blank canvas. All you need is some fabric paint.

Try:

  • Simple line art
  • Flowers
  • A simple quote
  • Soft random brush strokes

Let it dry overnight, and use it the next day, I think this craft makes for an awesome gift too.

8. Simple Beaded Bracelets

Beaded jewellery is back in fashion!

This craft is one that will save you money if you love to wear beaded jewellery, some of it is pricey, but of course for good reason.

Choose your beads, choose the colors, and stack them up. It’s relaxing, and many bracelets and necklaces can be accomplished in 1-2 hours depending on the design of course.

Final Thoughts

If you are guilty of half finished crafts, like I am. Try a smaller project you can finish in one evening. It’s so rewarding when you finish a project. The crafts on this list are fun to make and can be made in a couple of hours easily.
