Needle felting is a great craft to learn, it doesn’t need much equipment. While starting can be over whelming, once you have the hang of it, most projects are a breeze.
To help beginners I thought I would make a list on 10 beginner needle felting projects. I have linked tutorials to help you for each projects.

10 Beginner Needle Felting Projects for Beginners
1. Felted Wool Balls
Felted balls are one of the easiest needle felting projects and perfect for beginners to learn.
Here is a great tutorial to guide you.
You can use them for:
- Garland decorations
- Keychains
- Craft embellishments
A sphere shape is used in most needle felting projects so it’s definitely ideal to learn.

2. Simple Felt Hearts
After you master the sphere, try a heart. It’s a more forgiving shape.
They make lovely:

- Valentine’s decorations
- Tree ornaments

3. Needle Felted Mushrooms
Little mushrooms are incredibly popular in the crafting world. Felted mushrooms was a massive trend when cottagecore got popular, whilst cottagecore isn’t as popular, mushrooms are still cute and easy to make.

Instead of making a full animal right away, try just the face. It has enough detail to be a challenge with the out being over whelming. By focusing on one part of the animal you can really work on mastering details.

I made these for my Halloween party, so easy to make as they are basically spheres with defined lines and little stems!

6. Felted Clouds
Clouds aren’t perfect, so this why it is a perfect beginner needle felting project. Gently felt some fluffy wool and it can be used for

Tiny acorns go along with little pumpkins and are just as easy to make.

Who doesn’t love flowers? Felted flowers are pretty all year round! I recommend beginner give them ago.
You can keep it simple or transform them into a wreath.
9. Felted Bee
The bee is probably the easiest living creature to felt. It’s a simple shape with a simple colour palette but wow it comes out so cute.
I have my little needle felted bee I made sitting amongst my house plants, it definitely adds a whimsical cutesy touch.

The last project I recommend for beginner is a felted hedgehog. The spikey texture of a hedgehogs hides any flaws and mistakes beginners tend to make.
