5 Autumn Decor Ideas

Let’s get started…

1. Painted Pumpkin Vases (With a Twist)

Forget carving—this year, I’m loving mini painted pumpkins turned into vases or centrepieces. Pick up a few artificial pumpkins or real ones from the market, hollow them out (if needed), and pop in a small glass jar inside for water.

Paint them in muted tones like dusty rose, terracotta, sage green, or cream for a soft, modern feel. Add fresh, dried or even fake flowers.

2. Leaf-Stamped Linen Napkins

This is one of those crafts that feels super luxe but is so simple. Collect leaves with interesting textures, coat them lightly with fabric-safe paint, and press them onto linen napkins or tea towels. Like these ones.

Mix warm tones like burnt orange, mustard, and soft brown. These make your autumn table setting feel thoughtful and organic.

Bonus tip: Use the same technique on kraft paper to make custom autumn wrapping paper.

3. Autumn Wreath Using Foraged Finds

I love a good foraging walk, especially when it ends with something beautiful on my front door. Gather fallen branches, seed pods, dried grasses, and acorns to create a natural autumn wreath.

Wrap a simple wire hoop in twine or ribbon and attach your foraged materials using floristry wire or hot glue. Keep it asymmetric for a modern look! If you prefer to use a natural grapevine wreath, check this one out, it’s the one I used.

4. Mason Jar Candle Holders with Pressed Leaves

This one is pure autumn mood. Collect some pressed autumn leaves, Mod Podge them onto mason jars, and pop in some tealights or fairy lights. The glow through the leaves is honestly dreamy.

Wrap a bit of jute twine around the top for a rustic finish. These look gorgeous on shelves, mantels, or dining tables.

5. Cozy Hand-Painted Wooden Signs

Wooden signs don’t have to be overly farmhouse-style. I like to create small ones using scrap wood pieces, a neutral paint palette, and simple hand-lettered phrases like “Gather”, “Crisp Air”, or “Pumpkin Season”.

Use stencils if you’re not confident freehanding it. These make lovely little accents around the house or as gifts.

Handmade Autumn Magic

There’s no better way to celebrate the shift in seasons than by making something beautiful with your hands. These projects are affordable, beginner-friendly, and most importantly—fun!
